$230K in Federal Funds Going Toward Affordable Housing in Salisbury

U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin (both D-Md.) on Tuesday announced $230,000 for Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. The senators said the funding will help develop and preserve affordable housing, revitalize and sustain neighborhoods, and create local jobs.

“Many Marylanders struggled with housing insecurity before the pandemic, but are in even more desperate straits now. These funds will help Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services provide affordable housing and counseling assistance to families in need. I’ll continue fighting for housing support during this crisis and after – because everyone should have access to quality, affordable housing,” said Van Hollen, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
“Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. has been a life-line for residents and families in need of affordable housing assistance, even before COVID-19. This federal funding will equip them with additional resources to meet the continuing demand created by the impacts of the pandemic,” said Cardin. “Team Maryland remains committed to working to expand affordable housing options and ensuring that every Maryland has access to housing and critical services in times of need.”

  1. translation: more good homes will be given to people who DO NOT WORK and will not appreciate what they have. You will watch these homes rot with little to no upkeep. You will see your neighborhood go down.

  2. “create local jobs”

Did anyone else catch the tricky buzzwords? Oh boy, this is going to create jobs. Please tell us how $230,000 is going to create local jobs and how long will they last?? Not very long! Stupid Democrats lying to us again.

  3. Salisbury is a shit town just look at the daily crime … Jake Day and the last pansy mayor have turned the city into a crime ridden ghetto

  4. It’s Not Salisbury anymore, It’s Rainbow Ville Maryland and Crimeville Maryland, Thanks to Incompenant Jake day and other Corrupt local city Officials along with the Wicomico county Council. Money talks, Bullshit walks.

  5. Local jobs, your a$$! It’s local ghetto dwellings, like we don’t have too many of them now. More fancy smancy new apartment for non-working low life ghetto dwellers.

  6. I wonder how many of the 49 complexes of “Luxury Apts” in Shitzville are now taking section 8 because they have the rents jacked so high no one is living there.

  7. You all are misinformed. This housing is for the Illegal Immigrants Biden needs to set up housing. If there is any left over then real Americans will qualify which is unlikely.
