‘Clean Cars’ Bill Clears Major Hurdle in Virginia Senate

A bill that aims to reduce carbon pollution in part by getting more zero-emissions vehicles on the road has cleared a key hurdle in the Virginia Senate.

The measure is a top priority this year for environmental advocates. It would require that starting in 2024 a certain percentage of new passenger vehicles sold by manufacturers be electric or hybrid electric.

The bill is advancing along with several related pieces of legislation, including a measure that would spend public money on rebates for electric vehicle purchasers.

The measure now goes back to the House, which must approve changes the Senate made before it can go to Gov. Ralph Northam.

  1. Electric cars don’t work in cold weather …. green energy is a good idea but it’s not ready for prime time and not worth killing our economy by forcing it in because Washington politicians invest money in it to enrich themselves

    1. BINGO Baaaybeee!

      (1) Where is the money coming from?

      (2) Where is the money coming from for the consumer to purchase such cars? $15 min wage?

      HAHAHAHAHA

      1. the money is coming from your pocket dumbazz

including a measure that would spend public money on rebates for electric vehicle purchasers.

  2. How come all the propaganda about “electric vehicles” nobody is discussing where all this electricity is coming from. How is this electricity being produced?

When you get rid of fossil fuels you only have wind and solar power. These forms of making electricity will not be enough to provide electricity for normal everyday usage and then they want to add in another whole layer of usage. There will be no backup systems for businesses or homes.

You will need fossil fuels for the production of electricity for these useless electric vehicles You will still need fossil fuels to generate electricity for daily usage and backup power. When disaster situations occur, like what just happen in TEXAS you are going to have mass deaths occurring.

The government covered up the Navy experiments in the 1960’s when they were having hydro power using the oceans tidal movements, since it would lessen the cost and the power companies profits would be diminished by lower electric cost to consumers.

I have no problem on people wanting electric cars but it should be the same as anything else. When you buy something you accept the responsibility of the cost of operating that equipment / vehicle. Who will be responsible for installing all the charging terminals? I don’t expect others to pay for my gas usage. I have to pay a gas tax to use the highways then they should have to pay an additional tax equal to the gas tax specifically for electric vehicles.

This idiotic program will be good for the economy. Good thing is there will have to have more HOTELS / MOTELS / RESTAURANTS to accommodate the users who have to wait hours to get a full recharge.

The BIG questions still have not been asked / discussed such as
HOW MUCH WILL THIS RAISE HOMEOWNERS ELECTRIC COST OF USAGE?
WILL THESE ELECTRI VEHICLES HAVE A HIGHER RATE THAN HOMEOWNERS RATES TO COVER HIGHWAY USAGE?
HOW WILL THE ELECTRICITY BE PRODUCED WITH NO FOSSIL FUEL?

Politians and these GREEN idiots believe the regular consumers are a bunch of uneducated people who they can lead around like a bunch of slaves.

So tell me when will I hear of a Politian ask these hard questions and push for a comprehensive plan on these answers and more that I have not covered?
