Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is backing a Manhattan district attorney candidate who favors a slew of left-wing proposals, including capping sentences at 20 years and refusing, without exceptions, to prosecute a host of lower-level offenses.
Besides Tlaib, Democratic candidate Tahanie Aboushi has received endorsements from controversial activist Linda Sarsour and Cynthia Nixon, the former “Sex and the City” actress turned New York gubernatorial candidate.
On Friday, Aboushi released a plan to “decarcerate” Manhattan partially through an “Arrest Review Unit” that would reject large swaths of potential prosecutions. Those included prostitution, theft of services, drug possession and sale, third degree burglary, petit larceny, making graffiti, and second and third degree forgery.
I’ve seen the harmful effects of a system where incarceration is seen as the only option upfront and personal.
And it’s because of this that I am running as a DA who knows that accountability does not have to mean incarceration.

Not rocket science; if government will not prosecute or investigate crimes, which only get on the books by legislative action and executive approval, then citizens will fill the void by personal action. The result will be a lot of personal vengeance. Can’t inconvenience the perps.
What she meant to say was you can do bad stuff if you believe in what I believe in and vote the way I do. Otherwise you get prosecuted, persecuted, demonized, berated, deprogrammed and the like till the day you die.
