At the request of state health officials Worcester County schools will not return for in-person classes come January 4.
Some small groups of students were set to return for in-person instruction Monday, January 4, according to a plan released December 29.
Worcester County Superintendent Lou Taylor says the week will now be distance learning and any plans after January 8 will be released on or before that date.
Taylor also expressed his apologies to students and parents for the sudden notice and encouraged them to continue practicing social distancing guidelines.
