What will Times Square look like on New Year’s Eve 2020?

The New Year’s Eve Ball, which has gotten a make over, will drop at midnight on Dec. 31 in front of the smallest crowd ever in Times Square.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the ball drop will be streamed live on TV and social media from 6 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31 with first responders, frontline and essential workers, and their families being honored as special guests.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the public will not be allowed to attend the event.

The new “Gift of Happiness” design will be showcased when the giant crystal ball rings in 2021 on New Year’s Eve. The new design showcases a sunburst of bright cuts radiating outward. The design is supposed to indicate a sunny day, bringing warm smiles and happiness.

  1. Like the safe Disney attraction it’s become to attract none New Yorkers to the city as Tourists clutching their pocketbooks like footballs like the Rubes that take bus trips to the Philly Flower Show and are afraid of the Big Spooky City.
