Delaware elects Sarah McBride, first openly trans state senator in the US

Delaware elected the nation’s first transgender state senator on Tuesday.

Activist Sarah McBride, a Democrat, claimed swift victory in her race for the 1st District Delaware state Senate seat, according to the New York Times and the LGBTQ Victory Fund.

The win makes McBride, 30, the highest-ranking elected openly trans lawmaker in the US.

McBride, who interned at the White House during the Obama administration, made history at the 2016 Democratic National Convention by becoming the first trans person to speak at a major party convention.

She’s currently national press secretary for the LGBTQ civil rights organization Human Rights Campaign.

  1. This is the world Democrats want. Freaks who can’t even make their minds up about what gender they want to be for the day, bartenders with an IQ below 50, Somali terrorists, a president with dementia and a socialist vice president in power of the country.

    Viva la revolution!

  2. We had a president who created the greatest economy in American history, a president who reduced illegal immigration by more than anybody in history, a president who created more jobs and economic growth in the black and minority communities than any other president in history, peace deals in the middle East, and trade deals that protected the American consumer and many, many, more accomplishments. If you voted Democrat this election you should be completely ashamed of yourself. This is a complete travesty for the history of American people. A political hit filled with lies and a fake pandemic orchestrated by Democrats who are more concerned with people’s feelings and emotions than the well-being of the future of America. This is a step 30 years backwards that we may never recover from.
