Americans will reset their clocks again this weekend after the Senate left a Trump-backed daylight saving bill stranded, despite a big bipartisan House vote and the president’s public push.
House Republicans already did their part. In July they passed the Sunshine Protection Act by a wide bipartisan margin, 307 to 117, with only 22 Republicans and 95 Democrats voting no. The measure would let states keep daylight saving time year-round so families stop the twice-a-year ritual of changing clocks.
The Senate has not advanced it. Progress has ground to a halt even as President Donald Trump has pressed the upper chamber to pass the bill or at least take a vote, Fox News Digital reported.
