Something that happened last week that the taxpayers should be angry about.
The queen held her annual legislative breakfast, again on a Thursday so it would be limited as how many citizens could attend . For those that don’t know what this is about all of the state delegation is there to hear the needs and concerns of various government agencies and county leaders. What started a few years ago as a good informational meeting has turned into a love fest for Queen Giordano who invites her campaign donors and her hopefuls for local elections . With about 250 people at the tables eating including Bobby Leigh and Ross Evans county council hopefuls hand picked by Julie herself. Also dining at breakfast was John McCullen heavy hitter real estate agent who is a large contributor to the Queens campaign and the realtor that sold the county the Verizon Building boondoggle and the flood prone building on the river in Salisbury.
While most in the room savored the awesome breakfast the citizens who attended were relegated to the side of the room to watch the chosen ones chow down. That’s correct the citizens who attended could not dine but the Queens guest could. The highlight of the morning was when Delagate Hughes asked the Queen about the nursing home and she said she didn’t have any information available.
