Sometimes being dedicated to your boss can get you perks. Sometimes you think so highly of your boss that you are willing to do damn near anything to make them happy. You might even go so far as to falsely accuse a member of the public of assaulting you when they dropped a piece of paper in your lap! Remember that Mike Goldberg? Thankfully the video tape proved her wrong, but did she get disciplined at all over that? Inquiring minds want to know. There was another gentleman that was attending council meetings and didn’t agree to give his name. So, what does Heather do? Tries to sneak a picture of his truck tag so her buddies in the GOB could figure out who he was. But she got caught and called out on it. What was done about her unprofessional behavior? Like all of her bad behavior, NOTHING! And let’s not forget the three-car accident she caused, that within 15 minutes was back in another county vehicle. Do any other employees get that same privilege when they have an accident in a vehicle? Nope, they are not allowed to drive a county vehicle for the remainder of the day and are taken for a drug test. Not Heather, her test was a blow and go…
How many employees has Heather intimidated and berated so badly that they needed a trip to the hospital or an unlimited supply of medication? One of her favorite tricks to make an employee look bad is to cancel staff meetings for just the one coworker she wants to screw with. When they keep missing meetings, they look like the bad guy when it was actually her all along! Why is she continually allowed to mistreat staff? Why was a landfill supervisor calling her Madame Cuckoo Pants to her face? And why did the company that built the existing landfill cells, say after working with Heather Lankford and the Landfill Superintendent, that they would never do business with the County again? Heather Lankford was the engineer in charge at the time and directly responsible for the delays and confusion.
So, what is it about this engineer that is so special that all of her horrible behavior is actively encouraged and never punished? And why during an upcoming election was she hidden away from the GOB and sent out to no-man’s land in General Services on Owens Branch Road? Heather Lankford=huge liability for the County! And the Executive knows it!

She ran a 25 plus year roads super and his asst out the door! She could not engineer a Lego set. What running the roads dept now could not manage a not farm.
I totally agree with you! I have been asking Ms Giordano for months to have Mill Branch Road outside of Mardela Springs paved. It’s in bad shape and carries much traffic. After a summer of watermelon buses and logging trucks all summer and now farm equipment, it has only gotten worse. I never get a response from Giordano or the county roads dept. I have also made my request to them several times and again, I get no response . Lee , who used to be a supervisor with the county road division was exceptionally good about responding but those days are gone.
