Former Obama Admin Official Says It’s Time to Consider Military Strikes on Chinese Data Centers to Prevent Them From Reaching AGI

A former Obama administration national security official is now arguing that Washington should treat Chinese data centers as potential military targets if Beijing appears close to achieving artificial general intelligence first.

According to a report from Futurism, Jacob Stokes — once a national security adviser to then-Vice President Joe Biden and later with the Department of Homeland Security — laid out the case in a new paper titled “Superpowers and AGI,” published through the Center for a New American Security.

The South China Morning Post also highlighted the document. Stokes, now deputy director of CNAS’s Indo-Pacific Security Program, starts from the premise that AGI is coming and that the United States cannot afford to finish second.
