Maryland Gov. Wes Moore announced another round of funding aimed at getting more teachers into Maryland classrooms.
The state is awarding $14.7 million through its Grow Your Own Educators Grant Program to 13 school systems.
The grants will help 845 school employees become fully licensed teachers while continuing to work.
The program’s goal is to reduce teacher vacancies and create debt-free pathways into the profession, with a focus on high-need areas, such as special education and early childhood education.
