Bodycam footage captured the bizarre moment police stormed an IHOP and arrested an accused stabber – who calmly sipped his coffee as officers moved in to cuff him.
Jovaughn Nathan Matthie was detained Monday in Orlando, Florida, after he allegedly stabbed an Uber driver who refused to take him without a ride request placed through the app.
Shocking video of the ordeal showed officers busting into an IHOP in the area of East Marks Street and Kenilworth Terrace after receiving reports of a stabbing.
As officers confronted Matthie, they pointed their weapons at him and ordered him to get on the ground.
But Matthie appeared unfazed, remaining seated in the booth as he calmly told officers ‘one moment’ before taking another swig of his steaming coffee.
‘No, right now!’ an officer is heard shouting back at the alleged stabber.
Matthie then takes another sip from his mug before a second officer orders him: ‘Get on the ground, lay on your stomach, do it now.’
The video then cuts to Matthie finally complying, as he raises his hands in surrender before lowering himself face-down onto the floor.
