Christian Zedig, a 32-year-old Swedish police officer and father of two young daughters, died following a violent assault by an African mob in Copenhagen, Denmark, during a World Cup viewing party.
Zedig, who was vacationing in Copenhagen, was watching the Norway vs. Ivory Coast World Cup match at a crowded fan zone/screening event at Islands Brygge when a fist fight broke out.
The off-duty officer tried to intervene and break it up, but was subjected to severe violence by the mob and was repeatedly punched, kicked and stomped, including multiple blows to the head, according to witnesses.
He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries but died on July 2.
Like chickens in a barnyard peck the wounded one to death. It’s a cultural thing.
