(CRISFIELD, MD) – Two arrests were made this morning by the Somerset County Narcotics Task Force during a targeted enforcement operation aimed at combatting illegal narcotics distribution throughout Somerset County.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Jayson Philip Tawes, 39, of Crisfield and Gregory Allen Cain, 36, of Pocomoke City were arrested at a residence in Crisfield without incident. Tawes is charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a serial number and other illegal drug and firearm charges. Cain is charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, illegal possession of ammunition, and other drug related charges.
The Somerset County Narcotics Task Force is a cooperative enforcement effort between the Maryland State Police, Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland Natural Resources Police and the Office of the State’s Attorney in Somerset County. Arrests made possible with assistance from the Crisfield Police Department, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office-Criminal Enforcement Team, MSP Princess Anne Barrack, and concerned citizens of Somerset County.
