A small-town Virginia mayor was arrested this week after he allegedly showed up intoxicated at the scene of a train derailment.
The derailment and arrest happened this past Tuesday near the West Virginia border, where emergency crews were responding to a Norfolk Southern derailment.
According to WSLS-TV, Rich Creek Mayor Paul Morrison was taken into custody at the scene.
Back in the 70s, Alarm Guard called me at 2am to report that the alarm at the business I managed was going off. When I got there, I was met by an SPD cop. Someone had tried to break in our freezer. I reset the alarm and we both left. Thank God this was in the 1970’s, because I was 3 sheets to the wind! If this happened today, I’d have been “cuffed & stuffed”. P.s.- At least he showed up. 🙂
