Thanks to the Dems soft-on-crime agenda, many Americans have been convinced that crime, chaos, and disorder were just facts of modern city life. Part and parcel, right? We were told to lower our expectations, accept the decay, and pretend that pesky “root causes” mattered more than actually putting away criminals and protecting decent people who are just trying to live their lives.
But what’s happening in the Swamp right now blows a hole straight through that whole left-wing scam.
Because the truth is pretty simple… when leadership gets serious about crime, things change fast. And whether the media likes to admit it or not, President Trump deserves a whole lot of credit for that. He came into a city that had been hollowed out by failed “criminal-first” left-wing ideology, Soros-backed prosecutors, and politics over people, and he helped lay the foundation for a very different approach. More law enforcement, consequences for criminals,. and actual law and order. And surprise, surprise, that worked.
Now, one important correction has to be noted up front. An earlier report on these numbers overstated the decline, saying D.C. had only 12 homicides so far this year and that murders were down 85 percent. The corrected figure is 20 homicides, and the drop is still massive at roughly 75 percent compared with 2023. But the point doesn’t change… the crime capital is now seeing a remarkable turnaround, and the Dems who spent years excusing failure don’t want anybody talking about these numbers.
