Madness descended on an upscale Washington DC neighborhood again after a large mob of unhinged teens took over.
On Saturday night, a rowdy group of teenagers spilled into Navy Yard, a ritzy and trendy neighborhood in the US Capital, while people dined out and tried to enjoy their evening.
A massive crowd was seen running through the middle of a busy intersection, with some on foot and others riding bikes, in a video posted to X by investigator Elissa De Souza.
Souza was out to dinner at the time, but bright flashing police lights and sirens quickly came into view through the restaurant’s windows as the teens quickly ran down the road, dispersing in all directions.
‘What should’ve been a great night out in Navy Yard turned into something we’re seeing far too often,’ Souza posted.
‘Sitting at dinner at Takumi (one of the newest additions to the neighborhood) this was the view: chaos spilling into the streets, fights breaking out, and large groups of teens running through the area after yet another reckless event at the Bullpen.’
The latest disturbance comes as the Pan-African Community Action Group, a local activist organization, called on the DC leaders to end the curfew that was put in place to quell the issue, suggesting that it criminalizes and directly targets black youth.
In November, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed out between 11pm and 6am across the District of Columbia. An 8pm curfew is set to start this weekend in Navy Yard.
