DC still so rough stores are putting CANDY behind locked plexiglass barriers despite Trump’s no-nonsense federal crime crackdown

A CVS store in Washington DC has been plagued by so many thefts in recent weeks that employees have resorted to locking candy behind glass barriers.

Stealing is by far the most common crime recorded in the city, and theft rates have been steadily climbing since the start of the year despite the federal crackdown which began in November.

Some 233 thefts were recorded by the Metropolitan Police Department in DC in the week up to March 30, up 15 percent since the start of the year.
