Watch: Actress Leslie Jones Tells Young Fans Don’t Get Married, Says ‘Marriage Is Legalized Slavery’

Comedian and actress Leslie Jones advised her young fans not to get married, calling marriage “legalized slavery,” and noted that her father raised her not “to be anybody’s wife.”

“I think marriage is legalized slavery,” Jones told Ziwerekoru Fumudoh, who is better known as simply “Ziwe.”

After being asked to elaborate, Jones declared that “a man — especially if he is expecting you to be a tradwife — might as well pull out a whip.”

  1. Marriage is a partnership, not slavery. If he treats you like a slave than he is the wrong guy. I wonder what this chick’s mom thinks about marriage? I am slave to my company and a TAX SLAVE to the government instead. If we could survive off his income I would gladly stay home and be a “trad-wife”. I would rather serve a husband who loves me and be surrounded by my kids than where I am right now. Your company can replace you, your family cannot. Stop de-valuing women who chose a life devoted to family. It is Literally the MOST IMPORTANT job you could ever have.
