ix in 10 employers say they’ve already fired some of the Gen Z grads they hired fresh out of college earlier this year, according to a recent Intelligent.com survey.
Intelligent.com, a platform focused on young professionals and the future of work, surveyed nearly 1,000 U.S. leaders and found Gen Z’s shortcomings could shape how companies hire future graduates. One in six bosses said they’re hesitant to hire college grads again. One in seven said they may avoid hiring them altogether next year. Three-quarters of companies surveyed said some or all of their recent graduate hires were unsatisfactory in some way.
Employers’ top complaint was a lack of motivation or initiative, cited by 50% of leaders surveyed. Bosses also pointed to Gen Z being unprofessional, unorganized and having poor communication skills as top reasons for firing new hires. Leaders said they’ve struggled with practical issues as well, including being late to work and meetings often, not wearing office-appropriate clothing and using language appropriate for the workspace.
Colleges have been busy indoctrinating gen z instead of educating and training them for a self reliant future. And I don’t want to pay their loans off.
Everyone blames this generation but you have to realize who taught them this mess. I am not part of that generation but I realize that there is manipulation to these young people that cannot be undone. Instead of putting them down let’s find we used to do with them up. Reintroduce what they need to know and get them the hell out of these colleges. My company is taking kids out of high school and trying to get them in the trades. This is what it should have been happening to the last 30 years but everyone was pushing college. Now the older generation is complaining cuz these kids are lost. Stop complaining and start helping!
Again, if you are a boomer of means and you have right thinking kids- SELL THE SECOND HOUSE ALREADY and help the grandkids by pulling them out of public school DO IT NOW. Would you rather be poor or have your granddaughter says shes a boy? Put your money into rescuing kids from the evil satanic public schools- buy the homeschool curriculum for them if their parent cannot afford it. What are you saving your money for?
I also think school is part of this. But, these games and phones have a part in this, also.
