Wicomico County, MD — Wicomico County officials are notifying the public that the Newland Park Landfill campus will be temporarily closed on Saturday, February 7, 2026; Sunday, February 8, 2026; and Monday, February 9, 2026, due to an investigative request from the Office of the State’s Attorney.
The closure includes the Newland Park landfill, the on-site convenience center, and the brush pile. There is no immediate threat to public safety associated with the closure.
All other County convenience centers will remain open and operational during normal business hours for County permit holders. Residents with valid permits are encouraged to utilize those alternative locations as usual.
The County will provide updates regarding the reopening of the Newland Park Landfill campus as soon as information becomes available.
