Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano announces that the State of Emergency for Wicomico County will officially end at 5:00 p.m. today, Monday, January 26, 2025.
This decision was made after a thorough review of road and weather conditions across the county. Conditions have improved sufficiently to allow the emergency to be lifted at the end of normal business hours today.
“I want to commend our essential employees, especially our entire Public Works Department for their outstanding efforts during this storm,” said County Executive Giordano. “Their dedication, long hours, and professionalism ensured our roads were treated and maintained to keep residents as safe as possible under challenging conditions.”
County officials will continue to monitor conditions as temperatures change and encourage residents to remain cautious while traveling.
As a reminder, the Newland Park Landfill will open at 9am and the Convenience Centers will open at 12pm.
