The governor of Maryland has blamed the Trump administration for the loss of tens of thousands of federal jobs in his state over the past year.
Governor Wes Moore cited a recent report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics which estimated that Maryland lost 24,900 federal jobs and claimed the layoffs were a result of efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Due to Maryland’s proximity to Washington DC, a great deal of residents are federal employees, meaning the state was hit particularly hard by DOGE layoffs.
Almost 25,000 less workers draining our taxes and we are still billions of dollars in debt. Money is being wasted somewhere.
