The commission would consider giving slaves’ descendants monetary compensation, down payment assistance, debt forgiveness, and higher education aid.
Maryland will form a commission to study the possibility of providing reparations for slavery after the state’s legislature reversed Gov. Wes Moore’s veto of enabling legislation on Dec. 16.
Supporters of reparations benefits being paid to descendants of slaves say such benefits are justified because the harms that slavery inflicted on black Americans continue to be felt today, long after the practice was abolished.
There are NO descendants of slaves living in this country today!!!!!! NO reparations!!!!! This sounds just like something that Less Moore would buy into! That POS must goooooo at next election time!
Where are my reparations? As a white male , I have worked and paid taxes all my life to support these freeloaders who refuse to work because they think they are special. The way I see it -they owe me. Am I the only one who feels this way?
No, you are not the only one who feels that way!!!!!! They have been generation of mooching off the working white people while they collected every free program benefit out there, free food, free medical care, free rent, free meals for kids in school and and every program out there at Christmas so their kids have a much bigger Christmas than working families have. No reparation! They have been enjoying that for generations.
