DUKE: Trump Was Right About Somali Refugees And Everyone Knows It

Democrats and the liberal media are very upset that Trump called Somali refugees “garbage.”

“They’ve contributed nothing. The welfare is like 88%,” the president said. “I don’t want ‘em in our country, I’ll be honest with you, okay? Some will say, ‘Oh, that’s not politically correct.’ I don’t care. I don’t want ‘em in our country.”

“We’re going to go the wrong way if we keep bringing in garbage into our country,” he added.

The backlash to his comments is reminiscent of when he correctly identified that some countries are “shitholes.” Or that MS-13 gang members are “animals.”

Some Somali refugees, I assume, are good people. But the recent fraud scandal has laid bare an inconvenient truth: some cultures are simply not compatible with American values.

A large Somali contingent in Minnesota bilked over a billion dollars from taxpayers, running fraud schemes where money meant to feed hungry children or provide health care to autistic kids was used by Somalis to live lavish lifestyles and allegedly, according to City Journal reporting, to send to terrorist groups abroad.

Fifty-nine people have been convicted of crimes so far. All but eight of the 86 people charged in the “meals, housing and autism therapy fraud,” as the New York Times describes it, are of Somali ancestry.

Some of the defendants had also allegedly attempted to bribe jurors into returning a not-guilty verdict and suggested finding them guilty would amount to racism.

Fraud and bribery, of course, are the norm in Somalia. There’s an entire Wikipedia page about it (I’m sure they’ll take it down now that Trump dared to call a spade a spade).

“On Transparency International‘s 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index, Somalia scored 9 on a scale from 0 (“highly corrupt”) to 100 (“very clean”). When ranked by score, Somalia ranked 179th among the 180 countries in the Index, where the country ranked first is perceived to have the most honest public sector,” the page explains.

The country has not had a functioning government in decades and is rife with inter-clan wars and human rights abuses. Piracy is common among Somali youth, who view it as a quick and easy way to make money.

  1. It’s not only the Somalians in Minnesota running fraud schemes. Remember BLM, their leadership also scammed money to buy lavish things for themselves.
