President Trump, during a press gaggle on Air Force One Sunday night, didn’t mince words when it came to his “permanent pause” on immigration from all third-world countries. He confirmed the administration’s latest move is effectively without an end date.
Trump, late last week, issued a fiery declaration following the terrorist attack on two National Guard members on the streets of Washington, D.C., stating that there would be a significant crackdown on immigration from hostile or crime-ridden nations.
The attack, carried out by 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, took the life of 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom and left 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe clinging to life. Lakanwal entered the U.S. in 2021 as part of President Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome” following the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Trump responded to a reporter’s inquiry seeking a timeframe for the pause on immigration. In short, there is none.
“No time limit, but it could be a long time,” the President stated. “We don’t want those people, do you understand that?”
“You know why we don’t want them?” he continued. “Because many of them are no good, and they shouldn’t be in our country.”
