Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano is pleased to announce the completion and activation of the new Verizon tower on the Westside, officially known as the Wicomico Cedar Hill Antenna. This long-awaited project marks a major milestone in strengthening communications and improving public safety for Westside residents.
“This project has been two years in the making, but we stayed committed because we knew how critical it was for our community,” said County Executive Giordano. “Reliable communication isn’t a luxury — it’s a public safety necessity. With this new tower in place, our residents, first responders, and local businesses will finally have the improved cell coverage and connectivity they deserve.”
The new tower significantly enhances wireless service in areas that have long struggled with weak coverage, ensuring faster response capabilities for emergency personnel and greater peace of mind for families living and working on the Westside.
The County Executive extends her appreciation to Verizon, community partners, and all county departments involved in bringing the project to completion.
“This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening infrastructure and keeping Wicomico County safe,” added Giordano. “We are proud to deliver on this promise to the Westside.”
