Mykel Elliott of Salisbury, Maryland found guilty on all charges in the “Pizza City” shooting which occurred in the early morning hours of 16 April, 2023.
The victims were Ja’siah Johnson, who succumbed to his injuries and Jahmere Maynes who suffered life threatening injuries and survived.
Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney D. Scott Messersmith successfully tried Mr. Elliott with support from their investigative and administrative staff; the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division (Homicide) including crime scene technician(s) and detectives; the Maryland State Police Forensics Division (Limited Information, Firearms and Tool marks per policy); the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO); the Salisbury Police Department in collaboration with the WCSO operating as the Joint Community Action Team (JCAT); the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Secret Service, as well as expert witnesses in gang activities.
