President Trump on Thursday heavily criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) after four House Republicans joined Democrats to help defeat a censure vote over her reprehensible comments following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“I think she’s terrible,” Trump said during a press gaggle aboard Air Force One. “I think she should be impeached. I think she’s terrible.”
While congressional members are often removed from their positions through the process of expulsion, rather than impeachment, the President’s words indicate he is incredibly disappointed with the GOP members who let her slide without so much as a reprimand.
As he should be.
The feckless four Republicans – Reps. Mike Flood (NE), Jeff Hurd (CO), Cory Mills (FL), and Tom McClintock (CA) – exposed themselves as spineless in aiding Omar, who had mocked Kirk, mocked his supporters as “full of s***,” and shared a video which referred to the slain conservative icon as a “stochastic terrorist” and a “reprehensible human being.”
Trump went on to point out that Somalia, from which she and her family fled during a civil war, is a veritable hellhole and wondered why she thinks she can come from such a wasteland and tell America how it should operate.
“Is she originally from Somalia?” he asked a reporter, who confirmed. “So, how are they doing? How’s their government? Do they have a president? Do they have a council? Do they have anything? Do they have police?”
