Question Of The Day

Do you believe we should have year round school from here on out?

COVID-19 has certainly brought on massive challenges. You have to wonder, does every single student that hasn’t experienced a proper education this year deserve to graduate, or should every student be held back this year.

  1. My opinion is that if the student did the requested assignments and participated with the Zoom classes they should continue on in school. I feel students that wanted to learn did so and the ones that wanted to play around did so. You get what you put into it.

  2. I don’t think school should be year round, but the kids absolutely need to be back in the classroom. Teachers just don’t want to go back to work and want to work from home or just not deal with students. As far as graduation, every student should have to pass a test to see if they have actually learned anything in the past year.

  3. This would be a MASSIVE opportunity. Build more schools, LOTS of them. That way visitors can vacation AND have their kids go to school. Better act fast though before Florida thinks of it.

  4. Yes, it should be year round all these children struggling just now going back for two days a week, however some employee of school district children can go four days a week how is this fair

  5. Wicomico offered this at Delmar Elementary some years back. Enrollment was pretty low. Don’t know if it was still offered prior to the lockdown.

State law governs earliest day of school and latest. Teacher contracts specify a certain number of days of work.

    Not gonna happen.
