Barack and Michelle Obama are not well, and they have only themselves to blame. What is amazing is not their slide into irrelevance, but how quickly it came about. I guess the social media overexposure does that. A smart thing that George W. Bush did after his presidency was slip into obscurity. Aside from his tacky paintings, some of his philanthropic events, or a national event where former presidents show their faces, you rarely hear from or about him.
Instead of taking a page from his book, Barack Obama assumed he was so essential to the nation that we could not do without him. So, after he left the White House, he stayed in Washington, D.C. and engineered his shadow government that created the multitude of issues faced by President Donald Trump 45. But greedy man that he was, he also had his fingers in the pie of Hollywood, along with foreign policy pursuits. My colleague Jim Thompson wrote:

It was almost certainly for tens of millions of dollars. The Obama production company is called “Higher Ground.” What has “Higher Ground” produced? I don’t know.
Crap productions and agita. Definitely agita. If the 2024 election proved anything, it is that people are not only sick of hearing from Obama, but their reaction to his words and presence is literally visceral distaste. And the longer the stench of his cologne lingers, that distaste slides into disdain. Any respect he once commanded is quickly fading.
Obama’s latest X post to “commemorate” July 4 is a reflection of this. The president who did more to malign and marginalize America and Americans decided that on this Independence Day holiday, he would put back on his mantle of Lecturer-in-Chief and tell us what we’re all about.
