| I am many things that the fans of this website hate. I support LGBTQIA+ rights, oppose religion, support liberal and open immigration policies, support higher taxes on the wealthy and redistribution of wealth to help the most vulnerable so they at least have basic food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, and opportunities to earn an honest living. But even I oppose the fact that soda and candy are available through public benefits programs. In fact, I think we should ban soda and candy for everyone, entirely. It’s just poison. Bad enough that people are foolish enough to want it, but even dumber for us all to pay for it through taxes and public benefit programs. |
Soda and candy are not available on food stamps or WIC. I used to work as a grocery store cashier, I know this from first hand experience. The food stamps debit card will not cover these items and there is a left over balance they have to pay for with another payment method.
