A Virginia Senate committee has defeated a series of bills that advocates had argued were needed to free up state regulators to set electric rates that are reasonable and fair.
The Senate Commerce and Labor committee made quick work of deciding not to advance the five bills on Monday, ending their chances of passage. All the measures had cleared the House of Delegates with bipartisan support.
Advocates of the bills had seen this legislative session as the best chance in years to beef up the power of the State Corporation Commission to lower rates and order customer refunds.
This is a big boost for Dominion Power, which proves once again that Democrat Politicians have no concern for the people they are supposed to “represent” !
no concern and no CLUE. Sounds like VA is following the MD legislature mindset. Careful VA, the damage left in MD can never be recoup’d. TAXES.
Speaking of VA – read online that VA is moving forward with a Casino proposal 30 minutes south of DC on interstate 95.
Interesting…again don’t follow the MD path to riches – its not sound at all.
If they truly had fair rates, renewables would be priced out of existence.
So called renewable without heavy subsidies aren’t viable. The subsidy costs are paid by tradition generation customers and tax payers.
So called “renewable” energy is not renewable and is unreliable, but is does help the Chinese companies that make the equipment.
