FNC’s Carlson: Green Energy Means a Less Reliable Power Grid, Failures Like the Ones We’re Seeing Now in Texas

Monday, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson opened his program with a sharp rebuke of so-called green energy policies that have wreaked havoc on the country as an Arctic blast makes its way across the United States.

Carlson focused on failures in Texas, where millions suffered power losses in the wake of the colder weather, and said more of that should be expected with the left’s energy policies.

  1. Wind and Solar are unreliable by definition. You can’t turn on the sunlight when you need it and make the wind blow when you want to.
In order to have reliable energy, there needs to be traditional generation capacity on standby at all times, being on standby is extremely costly and inefficient.
Most electricity companies will not bear the cost of standby power so they take the traditional generating plants offline.
Suddenly, if a storm front or cloud cover takes out “renewable” generating capacity, the whole grid become unstable and blackout occur.
The larger the percent of renewable energy is in the mix the bigger the problem and the more unstable the grid becomes.
The issue is really as simple as that.
