Democrat Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona blasted Elon Musk for calling him a traitor after Musk criticized him for his recent trip to Ukraine to undermine President Donald Trump’s efforts to stop Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Kelly wrote on X (owned by Musk) Monday afternoon, “Traitor? Elon, if you don’t understand that defending freedom is a basic tenet of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those of us who do.”
Kelly is a retired Navy Captain who flew combat missions in the Gulf War and later piloted Space Shuttles for NASA. Kelly went to Ukraine with his identical twin brother Scott who is also a retired Navy Captain pilot and Space Shuttle pilot.
