85-year-old man brutally attacked on Metro until unconscious; suspect arrested, police say

Metro Transit Police say they’ve arrested a man in connection with an 85-year-old on an Orange Line train near Rosslyn last week.

Police say 22-year-old Antonio Lamont Rich, Jr. turned himself in Monday night.

They were looking for Rich on a felony malicious wounding charge.

According to investigators, Rich was panhandling on the train, and the 85-year-old refused to give him money.

At that point, Rich reportedly assaulted the elderly man, punching him in the face until he was unconscious.

  1. Happening too often. Just a few days ago the feral youth bum rushed a 84 year old veteran walking along the sidewalk. Body slammed the gentlemen to his death. Purrr trash walking among us.
