Firefighter Speaks for So Many of Us to Trump, As President Brings Huge Difference to NC and LA

Watching President Donald Trump operate in North Carolina and California in response to disasters makes the fact that we haven’t had a leader for the last four years so clear. Instead of someone sleepwalking through events or reading off a script, you now have a leader who is engaged, asking questions and expressing himself like a normal person, and truly responding with transparency to the press. Pres. Trump suggests and brings in answers. That’s the way it’s supposed to be when you have a real person in charge–and not governance by unelected officials behind the scenes.

Trump didn’t just meet with officials on Friday, he also engaged with the people who were affected. When he was in North Carolina, he didn’t just talk, he let the victims of the hurricane talk; he even adjusted the mic for one woman. He literally gave them a voice when they haven’t truly been listened to for months.

So much debris hasn’t been cleared there, and people still haven’t gotten needed help. For them, as this poor lady says, “It’s still Sept. 27.”
