It’s not quite the end-game for Joe Biden’s presidency, but with just days left before he exits the White House for the last time, he appeared in the Oval Office on Wednesday evening to give his “farewell speech.” Despite being relatively short, Biden managed to go out with a bang…and not in a good way.
Sitting behind the Resolute Desk, the president ranted and raved about random topics, including “fact-checking” on social media sites. Given how silly and granular of a thing that is to bring up at a farewell address, I can only assume his handlers have just completely given up at this point. Can you blame them?
BIDEN: Social media is giving up on fact-checking. The truth is smothered by lies, told for power and for profit. We must hold the social platforms accountable to protect our children, our families, and our very democracy from the abuse of power.
Past presidents have used their addresses to speak to the American people about high-level ideals. Joe Biden angrily complained about the moderation policies on a social media platform. You can’t make this stuff up.
