Shooting in Pocomoke, Maryland

On January 5, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., law enforcement from the Pocomoke City Police Department and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at a convenience store located on Linden Avenue, Pocomoke, Maryland. During the course of this investigation, it was learned that an individual identified as Evrin Holden Jr. (Age 18) of Pocomoke, Maryland approached the parking lot area in front of this convenience store where an individual identified as Jymere Williams (Age 19) of Pocomoke, Maryland, was standing next to a vehicle. Mr. Holden and Mr. Williams both displayed firearms and began shooting at each other. During this shooting, an individual that was seated inside of this vehicle where Mr. Willimas was standing, exited and began to run at which time he sustained a gunshot wound and was subsequently airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Holden was later located at Tidal Health in Salisbury with a gunshot wound to his facial area, where he was transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland as well. Detectives from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation responded and executed search warrants for two residences in Pocomoke, Maryland associated with this incident. As a result of this investigation, arrest warrants have been obtained by Detectives for the following individuals and charges:

Evrin Holden Jr.
Attempted 1st Degree Murder
Two Counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
Two Counts of Assault in the First Degree
Two Counts of Assault in the Second Degree
Two Counts of Reckless Endangerment
Use of a Firearm during a Crime of Violence
Possession of a Firearm by a Minor
Jymere Williams
Attempted 1st Degree Murder
Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
Assault in the First Degree
Assault in the Second Degree
Use of a Firearm during a Crime of Violence
Possession of a Firearm by a Minor
Loaded Handgun on Person
Handgun on Person
This investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are seeking the whereabouts of Mr. Jymere Willimas. Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation at 410-632-2076. Citizens can also provide information anonymously through the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office App that can be downloaded for free from the IOS or Android App Store. Sheriff Crisafulli stated “We will not tolerate any such violence, and we will act swiftly to hold those involved accountable. I want to commend law enforcement and the Worcester County States Attorney’s Office for their unwavering commitment to the safety of our communities.”

  1. Another day in the hood….these children have NO regard for life…the one is on probation for poss forearm by minor, per case search. He really earned his lesson the first time, didn’t he? You can thank the absolute WORST law Maryland ever came up with-Maryland Justice Reinvestment Act for part of the reason this happened.

  2. How and why are these kids carrying guns on the streets? I grew up in Pocomoke, and it never once occurred to me that I should walk around with a loaded gun. Guns are a dime a dozen all around the country. Our politicians will make sure of it!
