President-elect Donald Trump will sit down with NBC’s Sunday show Meet the Press in his first network interview since winning the presidential election.
The interview will be pretaped on Friday and will air on Sunday, Dec. 8.
The NBC interview will be conducted by Kristen Welker.
Welker had last interviewed the incoming president in September 2023 and was a presidential debate moderator in the October 2020 debate between Trump and President Joe Biden.
She had an interview with Vice President-elect J.D. Vance on Oct. 27 when he made the Sunday show rounds on CNN, CBS, and NBC.
The NBC host revealed that she had received numerous texts from Democrats who were “panicked” about Vance’s CBS News Vice Presidential debate performance on Oct. 1 because they worried about how “likeable” he was in the debate against Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN).
Trump and Vance reportedly sat down for at least 105 interviews between August and Election Day, doing a mix of traditional media outlets and influencer podcasters, including Joe Rogan.
In the Nov. 18 interview, Trump said he felt he has an obligation to work with the press even though some in the media have treated him “badly beyond comprehension.”
