Governor Wes Moore Statement on Passage of Question 1 in Maryland, Solidifying Right to Abortion in State Constitution

ANNAPOLIS— Governor Wes Moore releases the following statement on the passage of Question 1 Maryland, solidifying the right to abortion in the state constitution:

“We’ve been clear since Day One of the Moore-Miller Administration that Maryland will lead the fight to protect reproductive freedom. And this week, the people of Maryland raised their hands to guide this work, voting overwhelmingly to enshrine reproductive freedom into our state constitution. The people have spoken, and their will must be honored.

“At a time when Marylanders are concerned about their fundamental freedoms, our entire state is working together to protect the civil liberties and basic rights that everyone deserves. I am grateful for the partnership of the Maryland General Assembly, our friends both inside and outside of government, and the millions of Marylanders who went to the ballot box this November to engage with our democratic process.

“And while this week marked an enormous victory in our work to protect a woman’s right to choose, our fight is not done. The mission continues to keep Maryland a safe haven for abortion access, deliver critical supports centered on protecting bodily autonomy, and provide Marylanders with the resources they need to make their own, informed choices about family planning and health care.”

  1. Maryland was founded as a haven for Catholics! how lovely to see the completely evil DemonicRats in charge and so willing to sacrifice innocent human beings on the altar of Baal! worthless pos, if you love abortion so much why not abort yourselves!

  2. To be so proud of taking the life of babies is a disgrace. I can’t believe this passed. Reproductive rights are not the taking of a life. Period.

    1. There’s a reason they didn’t put the word abortion on the actual ballot, and instead make it sound positive calling it reproductive rights.

Told my wife, anything on the ballot having yo do with reproduction in MD has made it through the Dem controlled houses, so you can bet its about abortion.

      1. Instead of believing in the murders of unborn babies, how about stressing the importance of birth control and personal responsibility. I find it intetesting how these abortion advocates are fine with killing the unborn children but have a problem with the death sentence for convicted rapists and murderers.

  3. Tell it to the women who died because they can’t get procedures done that would save their lives because it might be considered an abortion.

  4. It wasn’t even about abortion it was just titled that way to mislead the public. It’s about allowing children to have trans surgery and procedures without parental consent

  5. Wes wants Moore. Another POS mayor from a blue major city. Look at the cities across the nation, run by POS. Sad….and those under their rule, vote them back in. Promised nada.
