The final day in a historic building that has called the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk home since 1927.
The staff at Dolle’s Candyland served their final requests for popcorn, taffy, and other treats on Rehoboth Avenue. Some people went out into the snow to take a picture with the sign in the background.
Owner Tom Ibach was a little emotional about the final shift at the boardwalk location, but he says he has great memories that extend beyond the workspace.
“It’s not just a business location because my grandparents lived here,” Ibach said. They lived in the apartment upstairs.
A little sad for everyone.
