Kamala Harris Fiddles While Rome Burns

The mad Roman emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus reportedly fiddled while Rome burned — although it’s more likely he played the lute, a forerunner of the guitar (there’s a heavy-metal music video in there somewhere). Nero’s act has ever since been taken as an example of a political figure demonstrating callous indifference to the plight of his people.

Nero ain’t got nothing on Kamala Harris. Breitbart brings us the account of Kamala Harris, back in her natural habitat of California, gushing about how “good it is to be home” and partying with Hollywood celebrities at a gala fundraiser. Meanwhile, the victims of Hurricane Helene are still wondering how to put their lives back together.

“Oh, it’s good to be home!” Kamala Harris reportedly exclaimed to the crowd gathered for a Harris-Walz fundraiser at the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.

Her prioritization of Hollywood stars over the millions victims of Hurricane Helene has resulted in a negative news cycle for her campaign. Former President Donald Trump is set to visit storm-ravaged parts of Georgia on Monday and will assist with the distribution of relief aid.

In response, Kamala Harris cut short her fundraising tour to head back to Washington, D.C. Monday morning.

Among those in attendance at Sunday’s Harris-Walz Hollywood fundraiser were Demi Lovato, Stevie Wonder, Jessica Alba, Lily Tomlin, and Sterling K. Brown, according to multiple reports. Former Disney chief and Democrat fundraiser Jeffrey Katzenberg was there as were Universal boss Donna Langley and Hollywood PR maven Kelly Bush Novak.

That’s a very fancy list of people, but then, Hollywood is known for being a bastion of the left, a few exceptions aside; it’s very friendly ground for Kamala, where even her notorious word salads won’t dissuade the celebrities from shoveling bushels of cash into her campaign. Kamala is, of course, unburdened in her fundraising efforts by what has been in the path of Hurricane Helene.
