The leader of Maryland’s teachers’ union sent a scathing letter to the governor and state schools superintendent over their calls to reopen schools.

The leader of Maryland’s teachers’ union sent a scathing letter to the governor and state schools superintendent over their calls to reopen schools.

Hogan said he has no power to order schools to open, but he is calling on school districts to open classrooms to hybrid learning by March 1. He said he doesn’t know of any public health reason for keeping students out of school.

In the letter, Bost says those in the education field are frustrated by the “lackadaisical” implementation of, and resources for, safety measures in schools and that Hogan’s and Salmon’s actions have painted educators as “opponents and obstacles.”

    1. You go in and teach them then since you are clearly qualified and feel no danger is present. Or are you too candya$$?

      1. Your absolutely right, this person probably isn’t qualified to have an opinion on this. They’re probably some working stiff who has had to endure this whole mess because they don’t have a union to fight their battles while they sit back on their a$$ and do nothing. If they go in and say “I’m scared of covid”, can I stay home? They’ll get fired for sure. You academics are all the same. You think a college education, and a union, gets you a one off when times get rough. I don’t blame you. You don’t have lunch duty, recess outside duty, line the kids up duty. Hell, you don’t even have to burn gas, or get ready for work in the morning. Yup, this person sure isn’t qualified to do your job right now. And they should be damn proud they’re not.

  1. Dock their pay by 50% and they get no unemployment or State / Federal aid since they are refusing to conduct the job duties as required instead of having a giant vacation with full salary and benefits.

Are the Transportation Buses getting their full compensation as the Teachers are?

  2. Most of us are out there everyday doing our jobs. If they don’t want to work, then they should not get paid!

Fire every damn one of them! The public school system is a failure. It’s become a communist indoctrination center and a mouthpiece for the far left. I for one, are tired of having my hard earned money going in taxes to pay for these worthless, pieces of dark matter!

Get off your collective asses and do the job you are paid to do!

Quit hiding behind our kids! You and I both know it is not for our kids, but for you sorry
    scared to work asses!

  3. Is this the one who sends her kids to a private school? 58% of my tax money pays her salary and my kids don’t get an education from that? It’s time for vouchers.

  4. So why is the WCBOE in the transportation business?
    Whose idea was this?
I bet this is costing thousands more than using independent bus contractors!
    No accountability to the taxpayers!

  5. In her letter she call the State Board of Ed hypocrites for meeting virtually but calling for teachers to resume in person instruction. Hmmmm… seems to me the teachers and other school administrators are hypocrites for wanting to be allowed to stay home from work but yet I see our local school teachers out in the community daily, eating at restaurants, shopping, putting their vacations up on Facebook, etc. Seems THEY expect other types of workers to perform for THEM in person. What a bunch of jackasses – when they do go back to the classroom they will be stunned by the lack of respect they receive at this point from parents.

    1. Oh, there’ll be hell to pay for these teachers. Not one student had better fail, or get disciplinary action on them. Do your damn job! That is if you ever have to work for a living again.

  6. WCBOE getting in the Transportation business(owning 60 plus buses and hiring 60 new employees)
Was the brainchild of E Bruce Ford,CPA,
    What a piss pour decision!
AND—the County Council had no say in this stupid decision!
