On May 29, 2024, members of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Enforcement concluded an eight-month multi-state Drug Trafficking Organization investigation. The investigation revealed that Jarod Rhodes, Tyrone Briddell, William Miller, Sahmoen Briddell and Tavon Biles were distributing significant quantities of cocaine throughout Worcester County, Maryland, and Sussex County, Delaware. This Drug Trafficking Organization was successfully dismantled because of the extensive collaborative efforts of several supporting local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. A total of five (5) individuals were indicted by the Grand Jury because of this investigation.
Investigators successfully seized approximately 1.7 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of nearly $150,000.00, a large quantity of United States Currency, various other assets, and other evidence of the distribution of illegal drugs. These five individuals were subsequently indicted and charged with the following:

William Antonio Miller- Age: 41

Conspire-CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute: Cocaine
Sahmoen Renise Briddell- Age 37
CDS: Possession- Large Amount

Sheriff M. Crisafulli commended the Detectives in this investigation and stated: “We will continue to apprehend and hold those accountable who try to poison our communities. This investigation is a clear example that these criminal organizations have no boundaries and due to collaborative efforts by all the agencies involved, this organization was successfully dismantled.”
The following supportive law enforcement agencies played a significant role in the overall success of this joint investigation:  Worcester County State’s Attorney’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Maryland State Police, Ocean City Police Department, Delaware State Police, Eastern Shore Information Center (ESIC), Washington-Baltimore High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). This operation was also supported in part by the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy (GOCPP) supplies grant funding and strategic assistance to MCIN member sites. These resources enable the identification, disruption, and dismantling of criminal organizations through enhanced inter-agency collaboration and data sharing, contributing to a safer Maryland for all.
