Delegate Anderton has been appointed as the Director of Rural Strategy within the Maryland Department of Commerce.

Delegate Anderton has served Wicomico County and its constituents since 2015 with distinction, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his role in the Maryland General Assembly. His efforts in promoting rural development, constituent services, and supporting local communities have been widely recognized.

County Executive, Julie Giordano commented on the transition, saying, “It’s bittersweet.  While we are sad to lose Carl Anderton as our Delegate, we look forward to working with him in another capacity.  We know that in this new role, he will help with economic development here on the shore.  His commitment to our community will continue to make a positive impact.”

As the Director of Rural Strategy, Delegate Anderton will focus on enhancing economic opportunities, infrastructure, and quality of life for rural areas across Maryland. His appointment reflects the administration’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges and leveraging the potential of rural regions.

  1. Taking a position in the Mooron administration.

Says a lot about his RINO credentials!
Hopefully, we will get a real Republican to replace him!

  2. It’s so awesome how so many of our local leaders have found spots in the Moore administration! It makes me feel good that we can know that the quality of our local politicians is high enough to participate in state roles. So proud! Next thing will be Federal/Congress/Presidential!

      1. 7:42 Oh looky. A liberal who can’t have an intelligent conversation. Just name calling. Always working off you’re feelings and not an ounce of common sense?

  3. Will someone please ask Julie Giordano or whoever the top dog is who in charge of such matters…………….please go repave Snow Hill Road! That road is beyond a shovel full of asphalt or whatever cheap junk they patch a pot hole with every once in a great while. It needs to be ground down and new resurfacing . It’s the worst road in Salisbury. Disgraceful!!!

    1. I’m happy to say that Mill Street was repaved several months ago. Thank you to who ever made it happen.
