Amid an apparent rift in the Republican Party in the wake of a pro-Trump riot inside the U.S. Capitol, three GOP lawmakers — Rep. John Katko, R-N.Y., Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., said they will vote for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
“To allow the President of the United States to incite this attack without consequence is a direct threat to the future of democracy, ” Katko said in a statement Tuesday. “For that reason, I cannot sit by without taking action. I will vote to impeach this President.”
Cheney, the No. 3 Republican in the House, said in a statement Tuesday that Trump “summoned” the mob that attacked the Capitol last week, “assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack.” She said, “Everything that followed was his doing.”
Kinzinger tweeted that he, too, will vote for Trump’s impeachment, laying the blame for the pro-Trump Capitol riot on the president.
Remember their names, vote them out.
This is the reason Republicans have no backbone. Pres Trump made them have bacbone. They now show they will never stand up to Pelosi, The OATH they sworn to when they took office and they are refusing to protect the US Constitution.
The only reason I vote is so I can complain about treasonous Republicans. This proves what I have been saying that there are very few true Republicans to vote for, since they rest are only in it for the money and not to represent the people and stand by the US Constitution.
The democrats are a direct threat to democracy. To impeach the best president in my life time will cause a separation in this country that has not been seen since the war between the states.
There were actually 10 Republicans who voted for impeachment.
