Judge Merchan’s Threat to Strike Defendant Backfires as Alan Dershowitz Drops Bombshell

Judge Juan Merchan, presiding over the ongoing legal battles involving former President Donald Trump, is under intense scrutiny after remarks by legal scholar Alan Dershowitz as reported by NEWSMAX on May 22, 2024.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Newsline,” Dershowitz criticized Merchan for displaying apparent bias against Trump, highlighting an incident where the judge allegedly threatened to sanction Trump due to a perceived look from a witness.

“The idea that the judge would threaten to strike the defendant because he didn’t like the way the witness looked at him, I’ve never seen anything like that,” Dershowitz remarked during the broadcast.

His comments have fueled concerns about judicial impartiality in high-profile cases, particularly those involving political figures like Trump.

Dershowitz, a prominent defense attorney known for his high-profile cases and strong opinions on legal ethics, argued that Merchan’s behavior exemplifies judicial overreach and a potential compromise of Trump’s right to a fair trial.

  1. SU wants to grow at all costs. That’s the nature of the business so to speak. Managing is something they don’t really exhaust themselves with. For supposedly thinkers, that’s takes to much thought. There’s alot of big money involved in this also. Private, donations, state grants, I’m sure. All your points are from a planning, and outcome perspective. Which is great. But we’re dealing with trigger pullers here. Non qualified entities who just want progression, and not effectiveness. Stature, not intelligent effective outcomes. That is a tight area. Jammed right up to the hospital, and busy Rt 13. Hope it works out. Not a Debbie downer here. Salisbury is having alot of growing pains right now. And part of it is stupid decisions being made by city administration. Can’t fix stupid. Just ride with it, and hope you don’t wreck.
