The Wicomico County Board of Education modified their monthly board meeting schedule to hold day meetings only starting in April. Traditionally, every other month is a night meeting, but no longer. Most parents and citizens work during the day, and they know that. Instead of scheduling their meetings in the evening so that citizens are able to attend, this is an obstructive tactic that they have used in the past to avoid civic engagement.
Most of the sitting board members that ran in 2022 stated that they wanted to improve board availability to citizens and even hold town halls to not only listen, but interact with citizens. After a year and a half in office, we have not seen any attempt to make that happen.

You see where this is going. No accountability. Worcester doesn’t have public comments at their meetings anymore either. So what do we do? Sad to say citizens are to busy with their lives to care. All programed to go along. A few strays will react. But it won’t matter. We are doomed to a system that’s keeps getting more control. And we let them. Such is our fate.

Yeah well, all it will take to fix this is sue them. It is illegal to circumvent parents and public and the courts say it is unreasonable to change times so majority can’t attend!
Both counties need to have a student walkout protest this would garner media attention which makes them nervous

Bigger news is that the trillion dollars the k12 national school system was given in 2021 during Covid has ran dry and school systems across the country already firing teachers and closing schools.
Some board members need to be taken out to the wood shed and have some adjustments made.
