At least eight states are planning to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars in the next decade – and others are considering joining them.
Only zero-emission vehicles can be sold in participating states beginning from the 2035 model year, according to the Advanced Clean Cars II legislation.
The rule, which was first adopted by California, means that automakers and dealerships would be banned from selling new gas cars in these states from that point onwards.
Americans will not be forced to take their gas-powered cars off the road, however, and will still be able to buy used and secondhand gas vehicles.
These states have gone further than the latest federal legislation announced last week, where the Biden administration released new rules to gradually phase out gas cars by 2032.

Marylands gas tax is at .47 cents right now. MDOT says they have a revenue short fall. While there will still be many, many gas and diesel powered vehicles on the road for years to come. Where is that revenue going to come from if all new cars sold must be EV ? What about the tractor trailers ? A typical tractor trailer fully loaded can carry 80,000 pounds. I’ve read that a battery pack for an electric tractor can weight upwards of 20,000 pounds. So that would mean 20,000 less pounds of revenue it can carry. Not to mention that there aren’t any charging stations for these trucks. And as everybody has seen, read and heard, this countries electrical grid system can not handle an influx of EV’s.
That’s why states are considering a mileage tax…
Would that mean there will be some type of devise that the local, state and federal government is going to install on your vehicle to track how many miles you drive in a day, week, month, year so they can charge you that taxed amount. I could go on but I’ll stop right where I’m at.
Where is all the electricity going to come from to power all theses EV’s ? Remember that Biden wants to ban all gas stoves and furnaces in favor of electric stoves and heat pumps. And the electricity is going to come from where ? Government over reach from the federal government all the way down to your local government.
What’s next ? They are going to tell / mandate to us, the tax payers, that there will only be 1 type of vehicle to buy.
1 type of stove to buy. 1 type of furnace to buy. Can only buy certain types of food. Can only go to government approved stores to shop for government approved items. I think I just described communism. The governments full control of its people.
They want 100% electric that can be controlled remotely. Your house electric can be turned off remotely with the new smart meters every household got installed free of charge, lol, and the new electric cars can be turned of remotely. Your comfort level will be controllable by big brother.
